Wallet Bag

The newest fashion trend this summer, for both, men and women, are wallet bags. Big enough to store money, credit cards and a few essentials like lipstick, car keys and your cellphone in them, there are still small enough to give you this 'less is more look' that has become so fashionable lately. Not only are they very compact and of excellent, space saving, design, a true wallet bag is also convertible! Their straps are detachable and the whole layout is so, that they can be worn as a simple purse in your pocket, on your belt, over your shoulder, around your neck and even inside another bag. Bigger models have detachable units so that you can increase and decrease them in size as the need and occasion arises.

The most well known brand for wallet bags is 'Baggallini' whose slogan is 'designed by flight attendants, approved by travelers'. And it is true, a short, very short, I promise!, look into the company history reveals that Baggallini was founded by two women in 1995, both having been flight attendants! They used their knowledge of the needs of travelers to create bags that are fashionable and functional at the same time. Keeping things organized and easily accessible is one of the hallmarks of their products, together with the fun and funky materials used to create the bags. They started out in the USA in 1995, but there products are now available all over the world in specialist stores and via online shopping companies such as Amazon. This small wallet bag in Zebra Crinkle design would make a great fashion accessorize for men and women alike. It is a unisex wallet bag so to speak. You can wear it in many different ways, for example, as a wallet in your pocket or larger bag, as a small bag over your shoulder or as a pouch on your belt. Only your own creativity is the limit. This bag comes with a adjustable and detachable strap, hence its versatility. As for roominess, you have inside and outside pockets available that offer enough space to store your cellphone / mobile, money, lipstick ( important for the ladies) and credit and debit cards. All pockets are closed by a zip, making it a safe storage. The lovely zebra design blends in well with whatever fashion you wear, be it jeans, dress or suits, making this wallet bag an affordable everyday option.

This is the bag I have chosen to represent this hub, hence I nicknamed it “the bag in the photo”, but its correct name is “Small Baggallini Wallet Bagg”. It comes in a multitude of different colors (my favorite is the yummy tomato one ;-) ) and is made of nylon. Which makes it washable and waterresistant! This is a biggie if you travel a lot and / or have little children that put their sticky fingers into everything – including your bag. This wallet bagg has an extra wide opening, making it easy to find all the little bits and bobs one carries around. It is divided in different, also zippered, sections and has enough space for the usual stuff like credit cards, a smaller wallet, a small pocket camera, a phone, a bit of make-up etc The adjustable and removable strap makes it easy to carry it in many different ways such as over your shoulder, around your waist, or, very hipp, on your hip! Whilst I prefer the more colorful ones, there are also more “manly” colors available, making this bag a good fashion choice for men and women alike. It is slightly larger than a traditional wallet, making it possible to carry that little bit extra around.

After I all the Baggallini goodness, I decided to finish this review with a completely different model. One that is definitively female-girlie and not unisex ;-) This Sherpani wallet bag features a big flower as decoration and as zip handle and opens up completely revealing (or spilling, if you are not careful) what is carried in it. It is a bit smaller than the other models reviewed here, put still big enough to carry everything essential such as phone, money and keys with you. It is the ideal bag to take to events when you don't want to carry the whole shebang and / or when security asks you not to. If you ever have been invited to a party at an embassy, you know what I mean. The sherpani is predominantly a shoulder bag, but the strap is detachable and hence it can be carried also in a bigger bag, in your hand or even at you hip. It is truly a “less is more” wallet bag for the modern woman that likes to live and move lightly. And it has certainly an attention seaking design for a wallet bag ;-)
