The best push up bra is worth nothing, if it doesn't fit well! There are a few things that you can do to ensure that your new bra fits like it was custom made for you. The first and most important is to choose the right model. Depending on when to wear it and what to wear over it, you have a multitude of choices available to you, from a simple adhesive bra to a fully fledged underwired and padded model. If you plan to wear your new push bra in the gym you will need a different model, then if you wanted to wear it under a long, gorgeous evening dress with a decollate. But this article is not about choosing the right model, it is about getting one that fits perfectly. So, here a short checklist to bear in mind when going shopping next time.

Be honest when you measure. Don't just take for granted that your old bra measurements will do for a new one. Your body changes and therefor it is a good idea to re-measure yourself before you go next time on a shopping spree, especially if it is an online one. A good time to measure is between periods, as the breast of many women start to gain volume just before the next cycle starts. The two basic measurements you have to take are 'under breast' and 'bust size'. For the first put a soft tape measure around your chest, just where the bra band would be. Make sure it is level all the way and doesn't slip down your back. You might get a friend (or your husband, he will enjoy that!) to help you if you are unsure. Now you measure again around your chest, this time at the point where the girlies are at their fullest. Dot these two measurements down and take them with you on your shopping trip. Now that you have your correct size, you can go shopping – finally! And as you are in the market for a push up bra, you should notice that you are still shopping for the size you have, not the one you want to achieve ;-) You will get the best results by looking for a bra that pushes your girlies approximately one size up, not more. Resist temptation, one cup size more will get you the best fit. As an example, if you are a 'natural' 36B, you want to get a bra that pushes you up to being a 36C (your under breast measure will not change, your cup size will – visually).

One big advantage if you shop online is that you can read all the customer reviews submitted. Yes, they do have to be taken with a grain of salt, but if 20 state that the bra is uncomfortable, chances are - it is uncomfortable!
