Avanti Bake & Broil Oven with 2-Disk Burner

This is kind of the flagship of the Avanti series of ovens, a fully fledged oven at a smaller scale, burner plates, convection feature and rotisserie included! It offers the full ranges of temperatures and features to allow you to bake, cook and broil the meals you want to prepare. Additionally it has an acoustic timer control (60 min) and automatic shutoff to avoid accidental overheating. And you can watch the food being cooked through the large transparent and indestructible glass door. Racks and trays facilitate to easily insert the food and take it out, plus a crumbs tray for easier cleaning and also for the preparation of vegetables and potatoes. It is small enough to fit in a tiny kitchen and big enough – and well equipped also for that matter – to cook a several course meal for one up to four people, creative menu planning provided ;-)

There are not a lot of dishes you can't prepare in this multi-functional oven. The rotisserie feature allows to grill poultry to perfection, the top burners keep dishes warm until served and allow soup to be cooked and eggs to be boiled. And if you load the vegetables into the bottom tray they even cook and are getting flavored by fat dripping from the rotisserie skewer at the same time! A really yummy mini oven!

Some general tips in order to make the most out of your Avanti Bake and Broil Oven with top burners are to plan your meal carefully. Then start to cook it from the tail to the head, meaning that you have to prepare the dessert first and the starter last. That allows you to store finished dishes until they are saved and to serve dishes hot that are meant to be served starters or soup courses. The two top burners help you to keep dishes warm until they are served or to cook soups or slow cook stews. Lets have a look at a sample menu and yes, it is based on a classic menu of the haute cuisine de la France ;-)

Amuse-Bouche or Amuse-Gueule, a single sized appetizer that is meant to entice the taste buds, a canape with salmon, caviar or jamon serrano would be a good example. This one needs only a fridge, not a mini oven ;-)

Cold Starter, like the name says, a cold first dish, like for example boiled eggs filled with different delicacies like cheese cream or mustard cream and ham. The mini oven is only necessary to boil the eggs.

Soup, like a clear bouillon or consommé, easily cooked and kept warm on one of the top burners.

Warm Starter, what about scrambled eggs with mushrooms or shrimps? Quickly prepared in a small pan on the second top burner.

A Fish or Meat Dish with accompanying vegetables, potatoes and or fries prepared on the rotisserie skewer and the bottom tray. Roast chicken and potatoes and vegetables comes to mind. Potatoes and vegetables acquire an even better taste when prepared in the bottom tray and gaining extra flavor thanks to the fat dripping down from the chicken or other poultry.

Cheese, you can use the mini oven to warm the bread rolls, but for the rest you will not need it!

Freshly baked brownies or cookies. Either prepared beforehand, or, if you and your guests are slow eaters, after the main course has left your Avanti oven!

You see, with a bit of planning and creative use of space and resources you can serve a seven course meal prepared with the help of a mini oven without any problems!

In summary, like all other mini ovens, the Avanti is also energy (and hence money) saving, space saving (ideal for small kitchens, boats, RVs and university dorms) and ecological (less energy necessary to cook your food as you don't need to heat up the waste, mostly empty space of a traditional oven). And it is perfectly possible to prepare a several course meal for you and your university sweetheart in it! Perhaps for Valentine's Day?

Just what my wife wants for Valentines day. I think she'd kill me. Still. It's a great article.

@R Stolarczuk

Yup, as a woman I can tell you it wouldn't make exactly the best Valentine's gift, but if you have a daughter or son that are off to their first own place, such an all-in-one oven might be a great idea ;-) SY
